HELPING WITH BURNOUT AND STRESS
Experiencing stress occasionally is a normal part of life, but when symptoms persist over a prolonged period, it can lead to burnout, which can have severe effects on your health. While burnout can occur in any profession, it is especially prevalent in high-stress industries such as healthcare, education, and corporate environments where the demands often exceed available resources and support.
Burnout manifests differently for everyone, but common causes include excessive workload, emotional demands, lack of support, and inadequate resources. For instance, professionals in high-stakes roles often juggle numerous responsibilities and face significant pressure to perform, which can lead to chronic stress. This sustained stress, if not managed properly, can deplete one's energy and motivation, leading to a state of physical and emotional exhaustion.
Recognising the symptoms of burnout is the first step towards recovery. If you find yourself experiencing persistent negative attitudes towards work, disruptions in your social life, or symptoms of depression and anxiety, it's crucial to seek help. The Burnout Coach can be a valuable ally in this process, offering strategies to manage stress, restore balance, and build resilience. By incorporating techniques which focus on emotional self-regulation and coherence, you can learn to navigate your challenges more effectively, ultimately leading to a healthier and more fulfilling professional and personal life.

WARNING SIGNS OF BURNOUT

a lack of concentration? If you are struggling with large periods of forgetfulness and are having trouble concentrating on normal tasks throughout the day, it may be worth getting some support.
an increase in negative feelings? Negative emotions are normal but if you find yourself filled with dread on a regular basis, or if you feeling a significantly low tolerance for coworkers, family or others this could mean you need a break.

5 QUICK TIPS TO:
BUILD RESILIENCE
Breathe a little life back into your day
Practice self care. Take breaks away from the desk and find a friend/colleague for a casual chat/walk/coffee.
Set boundaries. Learn to compartmentalise, and start saying no more often. Try leaving your bag at work and make to-do lists for jobs to action each morning.
Start a journal. List the positives you are grateful for and reflect on what went well today.
Practice Mindfulness. Take a few minutes to focus on your breath and be present in the moment.
Make time for exercise. Moving your body can help improve your mood and overall well-being, even if it is just a quick walk around the block.
